Our Review
Alpha Dispatch is a Chicago-area dispatch service that focuses primarily on dry van operations. They offer standard dispatching services at market rates. Nothing exceptional in either direction — a middle-of-the-road dispatch service that handles the basics competently but does not differentiate meaningfully.
Pros
- Solid Midwest freight lane knowledge
- Competitive pricing for dry van dispatching
- Straightforward month-to-month agreements
- Decent communication during business hours
- Quick carrier packet setup process
Cons
- Limited specialization outside of dry van
- Generic service that does not stand out in any particular area
- No technology differentiators — basic phone and email communication
- Smaller team with limited scalability for fleet accounts
Our Verdict
Alpha Dispatch is a competent, unremarkable dispatch service best suited for dry van owner-operators in the Midwest. They handle the basics well enough and do not charge a premium for it. If you need specialized dispatching, advanced technology, or strong coverage outside the Midwest, you should consider alternatives with those specific strengths.
Pricing & Fees
Standard percentage model. Dry van rates at the lower end, other equipment types higher. No setup fees for most carriers.
